Suitable for multi‑core XLPE insulated power cables rated 0.6/1(1.2)kV and below.

Designed for termination connection between low‑voltage cable ends and electrical equipment, providing insulation, sealing and connection functions.

Product types: 2‑core, 3‑core, 4‑core and 5‑core (armoured / non‑armoured cables).


Product Introduction

Shelf Life & Storage:
Cold‑shrink terminations / cold‑shrink intermediate joints feature long shelf life. Store in an environment with temperature ranging from ‑10 ℃ to 40 ℃ and relative humidity below 75%.

Step 1: Cable Pre‑treatment

Move the cable ends to be installed into proper position. Straighten the cable within 2 m of the joint. Strip off the outer sheath, steel armour, inner lining and insulation according to the dimensions shown in the drawing. Roughen the surface over a 150 mm section at both ends of the outer sheath. Keep the cable inner filler intact. Slide the cold‑shrink tube onto the conductor insulation of end A, pay attention to the end orientation (see drawing). (For 4‑core cables, fit the thinner neutral‑core insulating tube over the thinner neutral‑wire insulation.)

Step 2: Cable Pre‑treatment

Crimp the connector tube in accordance with standard requirements. Remove sharp edges and burrs, grind to a smooth finish and clean the surface. Apply mastic filler to fill the crimp indentations as well as the gaps between connector tube and phase insulation, with an overlap of no less than 10 mm onto the phase‑insulation. Pull the cold‑shrink tube from end A and position it centred over the connector tube. Extract the plastic support strip to allow natural cold‑shrinking, ensuring overlap onto the left and right‑hand phase‑insulation.

Step 3: Restore Outer Sheath
  1. Gather the conductor cores together. Fill uneven positions of each phase with the previously stripped‑off filler to shape the waterproof rubber tube into a round form, then wrap and secure with PVC tape.
  2. Thoroughly clean the outer‑sheath surfaces of end A and end B. Start wrapping with waterproof tape with 100 mm overlap onto the outer sheath, apply half‑lap wrapping all the way to the other end with an overlap of minimum 100 mm. (Stretch the tape moderately during wrapping; avoid wrinkles.)
  3. Fit the armour wrapping tape in accordance with its operating instructions. Wrap the water‑soaked armour wrapping tape over the joint with half‑lap method, achieving no less than 100 mm overlap onto each outer‑sheath end respectively. (Do not move the assembly until 15 minutes after completion of installation.)
